Stéphane Morin is Local 931’s educator for shop stewards and health and safety stewards. Also, he occasionally does training for other locals. Brother Morin has been a member of Local 931 since April 1999. He works for TD Meloche Monnex Insurance, was elected shop steward in 2005 and has been head shop steward since February 2008.
Steve Drizos has been a member since June 9th, 2003 and works for Purolator at the Hub Center. Brother Drizos represents Teamsters-Quebec on the CTC, Teamsters Canada and the FTQ Youth Committees.
Brother Philippe Jolin works for Purolator Inc. (Montreal Hub) and has been a member of Local 931 since 1987.
Brother Jolin has been the principal Local Représentative (RL) for “le Fonds de Solidarité FTQ” for Local 931 since 2004, he also sits on the “Comité Permanent FTQ – Régimes de Retraite et d’Assurances” and represents Quebec Teamsters.
Benoit Courchesne, a member of Local 931 since November 2006, has been appointed member of the Committee “Alcoolisme, toxicomanie et autres dépendances” to the Comité Permanent FTQ, representing all Teamsters of Quebec on this committee.
In 2014, Brother Courchesne was elected shop steward for the drivers at Purolator (Boucherville Center). He is head shop steward since September 2016.
Brother Zoheir Benjamâa has been a member of Local 931 since 2008 and is Teamsters Quebec’s representative at the FTQ for the Promotion of the French Language. Zoheir has worked at McKesson Canada has been shop steward for the office employees since March 14th, 2014. Previously, Brother Benjamâa was an assistant shop steward as of 2009. Brother Benjamâa also occupies the RL function for the Fonds de Solidarité at the FTQ for his work colleagues.
Erik Desjardins has been a member of the Local since November 10th, 2008 and is head shop steward for Purolator Dispatchers since 2009. Brother Desjardins sits on the Integration Committee of Labor Disabilities for Teamsters Québec at the FTQ for which Brother Boutin, President, is the Policy Officer.
In December 2012, Erik Desjardins was the first recipient of the Carol McGregor prize for the rights of people with disabilities from the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC). This award recognizes the contribution of a worker with a disability who has had an impact in the union or in the community by promoting or defending the rights of people with disabilities.
The winner is not only involved at work, but also works with young people, plays sports and is very active in his community. Previously, Mr. Desjardins worked in a call center whose workers were represented by another union, but he did not hesitate to leave this job and lose his seniority in order to meet new challenges and get involved with the Teamsters.
In addition to being a leader and a good communicator, Erik ensures awareness and fights to enforce the rights of people with disabilities. He made sure that his workplace met the needs of the disabled and convinced his employer to build a ramp and to create suitable parking spaces.
Erik is a positive person who is constantly trying to help and get involved in his community. He has been invited several times to speak to young people with disabilities to help them excel. As a sledge hockey player, he participated in the 2000 and 2004 World Championships in Salt Lake City and Sweden. He also attended the Paralympic Games in 2002 and was a substitute player in the team who won the gold medal in Turin in 2006. Erik now practices adapted tennis.
Brother Yanick Asselin works at Purolator Inc. and has been a member of Local 931 since June 10th, 1991.
Brother Asselin sits on the Permanent Committee “Health and Safety at work” at the FTQ to represent Quebec Teamsters. He was chief shop steward at Tees from 2011 until 2016 and representative of the Health and Safety Committee at Work from 2005 until 2011.
Brother Asselin has also been an instructor for Local 931 since 2015 and he is now assigned to the Purolator Inc. Freight division.
Steve Sobol has been a member of Local 931 since March 10th, 1986 and works for UPS. Brother Sobol has been head shop steward since 1986 and assistant business agent since 2006. Brother Sobol has participated in 7 national negotiations.
Bernard Boutin has been a member of Local 931 since June 2nd, 1989 and works at Purolator at the Montreal Hub.
Brother Boutin has been the shop steward representing the drivers since 2007 and was recently appointed member of the FTQ Permanent Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development to represent all Teamsters in Quebec.
Tony Murrin works for UPS at the Lachine Center and has been a member of Local 931 since February 19th, 1987. Brother Murrin has been a shop steward since 1991 and participates in national negotiations.
Stéphane Skelling works for Purolator and has been a member of Local 931 since 1987. After working as shop steward at the Tees Center in 2000, he was elected head shop steward at the Vaudreuil Center in 2011 and participates in national negotiations. Brother Skelling is also a graduate of the Collège Fonds-FTQ. He is also the principal Local Representative (RL) for “le Fonds de Solidarité FTQ ” for Local 931.
Kevin Scott has been a member of Local 931 since February 5th, 1988 and works for UPS at the Lachine Center. Brother Scott has been a shop steward since 2002 and participates in national negotiations.
Alain Viau has been a member since October 1993 and works for Purolator at the Ville St-Pierre Center. Alain was elected shop steward in 2006 and head shop steward in 2009. Brother Viau also participates in national negotiations. He is also the principal Local Representative (RL) for “le Fonds de Solidarité FTQ ” for Local 931.
Stephane Boisclair has been a member of the Local since 1987 and works for Purolator as a Linehaul driver at the St-Laurent Hub. Brother Boisclair was elected shop steward in 2007 and head shop steward in 2008. Stéphane also participates in national negotiations. Brother Boisclair is also a graduate of the Collège Fonds-FTQ.
Sylvain Nobert works for Purolator at the Hub Center and has been a member of Local 931 since 1984. Brother Nobert is an events coordinator for Local 931 and responsible for community activities.
